We are pleased to launch the Master of Social Entrepreneurship (MSE), affiliated by Karnatak University.

What makes MSE program special?  With an aim to demystify social entrepreneurship for young and creative minds this residential program is carefully designed from a practitioner’s perspective. MSE is hosted by Deshpande Center for Social entrepreneurship (DCSE) that has been a breeding ground of several start-ups, an international network of enterprises and concrete partnerships with over 100 for profits and not –for profits who all are engaged in solving social issues with a compassionate heart and entrepreneurial mind set.

Two year program is packaged with 25 different courses that blend with cutting edge practical experience as well as personal mentorship through real entrepreneurs. Our international experience in US and Canada where Deshpande Centers been launched in renowned universities with a sole objective to make “learning relevant and responsive to real time challenges” and embark on an even more ambitious aim to help students not just ‘learn’ about entrepreneurship but find the inspirations and tools of becoming an entrepreneur themselves. Who should join MSE?  Graduates in any field who are looking to step into creating or managing a social enterprise themselves. People who are passionate about social issues but still possess an entrepreneurial acumen to venture into innovative and yet sustainable initiatives. We are pleased to share that being located DCSE MSE program brings an added advantage of possibility of getting incubated in our Entrepreneur in Residence program, an incubation centre where several other start-ups will accompany you as you chart the journey of developing a small idea into a big impact. Closer to home we bring synthesis of our learning’s in northwest Karnataka as well advantage of our global network in the form of MSE program.

IT quiz by Technology for Common 

Tech4C conducted IT quiz competition for fellows at Deshpande Foundation, Hubli.
The topics were included in the quiz were MS Office 2007 (Word, Excel, Publisher and PPT), Internet, Email and General computer knowledge.

Quiz had some interesting rounds such as Leader round, Do or Die round, Grand slam round and visual round.

The winners for the quiz were Team A with 151 points against Team B's 122 points.

The pre-training IT classes for DFP8 were concluded on 31st March, 2012. The last 12 days of their IT training fellows were involved in closely monitored IT practice. They were provided checklist to practice IT.  To check their IT learning's Tech4C conducted  final IT test on 30th of March, 2012 which was in Q&A mode with practical approach. Each fellow was graded based on  various parameters such as previous written IT tests, blog activeness, clarifying doubts and participation in class. The overall class learning percentage was approximately 70

Technology for Common conducted quiz competition to enhance the learning experience of the fellows. The 2 teams were from Koutilya cohort2 and Deshpande fellowship program - cohort8. The topics covered for the quiz were MS Office package (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Internet and computer basics. Quiz has 4 rounds namely General round, Visual round, Rapid fire round and Group act. It was very close encounter between the 2 teams but at the end Koutilya cohort 2 emerged as winners scoring 140.5 out of 170. DFP8 scored 105.5 out of 170.

Technology for Common organized 1 day IT training for the NGO staff.  The training objective was to demonstrate and train the trainees using Office tools (MS word, PowerPoint, Publisher) and Internet tools (Internet search, effective email, social networking) in their day to day work. Trainees were from following organizations
  • Kalkeri Sangeet Vidyalaya, Dharwad
  • Sahana Charitable Trust, Dharwad
  • BIRD-K
and few were Navodyami participants

india.gov.in is the National Portal of India. It has different sections like Government where you can find informations about constitution of India, Parliament, Rules and Acts etc, the section Citizen and find information on Health, Education, Employment etc.

Tech4C at Deshpande Foundation, Hubli conducted class for cohort 8 fellows of Deshpande Fellowship Program where they explored the How Do I ? section of the site. Fellows were divided in to 5 groups of 5 each and were assigned 4 topics on which they created ppts and presented to the class. End of each group presentation there was Q&A session to clarify doubts and any other questions.



Some of the topics assigned were obtaining (birth, caste, marriage) certificate, applying for (PAN, TAN, ration) card, registering (land/property, vehicle) etc.
